Understand and apply the guidance

A fresh coat of paint cannot answer a structural-safety question. Students and families can ask who is responsible for a building, whether alteration work is continuing, and what professional review supports its current use. These are editorial due-diligence questions, not a do-it-yourself structural inspection.

Ask the manager for applicable local approval and inspection records and seek clarification from the relevant authority when information is missing. A document should relate to the actual premises and alterations; only a competent professional can assess structural adequacy. Do not assume there is one nationwide inspection interval for every student property.
