State-Wise Emergency and Disaster Helpline Numbers in India (Checked 19 Oct 2026)

Call 112 for any emergency in India. The state-run numbers around it differ: disaster control rooms (1070 and 1077 in many states), ambulance and health lines (108, 102, 104), electricity complaints and women helplines. We list only what we saw on official pages on 19 October 2026 and say where we could not confirm a number.

Quick answers

What is the SDMA control room number for my state?

It depends on the state. In many states the disaster helpline is 1070 and the district one is 1077, but several states publish their own landlines. Check the table for your state, and your state disaster management authority website for any change.

Is 1070 the disaster helpline everywhere in India?

No. Many states print 1070 as the state-level disaster helpline and 1077 as the district one, but we did not find it on the official pages we could read for every state. If your state shows "not verified", look it up on its official site.

What is the difference between 108, 102 and 104?

108 is the emergency ambulance. 102 is the ambulance service for pregnant women and children. 104 is a health advice helpline run by some states. Which of these work, and who runs them, differs by state.

Is the electricity complaint number 1912 in every state?

It is on the official pages of many state power companies, but not all. Tata Power-DDL in Delhi lists 19124, PGVCL in Gujarat 19122, WBSEDCL in West Bengal 19121 and TNPDCL in Tamil Nadu 94987 94987. Your bill and your power company's own website are the best check.

Why are Rajasthan and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands empty?

Their official government sites did not open from our network on 19 October 2026, and we did not want to fill the gap with unverified numbers. We will add them once we can read an official page.

Can I trust a state helpline list I got on WhatsApp?

Treat it with caution. Numbers get copied wrongly and go out of date. Check against your state's official .gov.in or .nic.in site, or call 112 if it is an emergency.

Is there a state-specific LPG gas leak number?

We found none on official pages. 1906 is the national 24x7 LPG emergency helpline, and for a fire you should call 112 or 101.

The number to call in an emergency is the same across India: 112. But the numbers around it change from state to state. Your disaster control room, the ambulance service, the electricity complaint line and the state women’s helpline are run by your state, and the number is often not the one a cousin in another city gave you. This guide gathers the state-run numbers we could confirm on official government pages on 19 October 2026, and says plainly where we could not. For the numbers that are the same nationwide, see our guide to emergency numbers in India.

Infographic in six steps on how to find your state's emergency numbers: start with 112, find your state disaster management authority website, look for the control room, check your electricity bill, check the health department, then save and date the numbers.

How to read this guide

  • Checked on 19 October 2026. Every number in the tables was seen on an official government, state disaster management authority or state power company page that day. The sources are listed at the end.
  • “Not verified” means we left it out. Some official sites did not open for us or did not print a number. We did not fill the gap from news reports, forwarded messages or memory. A shorter table you can trust is better than a long one you cannot.
  • Only office and control-room numbers. We have not listed any individual officer’s phone number.
  • “Same as national” means no special number. Where a state simply uses the national women’s helpline 181 or police 112, the table says so.
  • Numbers change. Some state pages are old or undated. Save these numbers, and check them against your state’s own website once a year.

State-wise and UT-wise numbers

Disaster control room means the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) or State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC). 1070 is the state-level disaster helpline and 1077 the district-level one in many states. Ambulance and health lists 108 (emergency ambulance), 102 (ambulance for pregnant women and children) and 104 (health advice) only where an official page for that state carries them.

Where the 36 states and UTs stand

We found at least one verified state-run number for 34 of the 36 states and UTs. For Rajasthan and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the official sites would not open from our network on 19 October, so those rows are empty rather than guessed. Several other states have gaps in single columns, mostly the disaster control room and the electricity line. Where a state has several power companies, we list only the ones we could read.

Looking for help close to you? The team behind HowToSurvive.in also builds Bharat101, an independent safety app (not a government service). It shows nearby fire stations, hospitals and police stations, and its hold-to-send SOS shares your live location with the control room and your emergency contacts. You can find it on Google Play. In an emergency, always call 112 or 101 first.

Which number for which problem

  • Life at risk, fire, crime or a crash: call 112 first. Our call-script guide explains what to say on the call.
  • Flood, cyclone, landslide, earthquake or storm damage: your state control room (1070 in many states) or the district control room (1077). If lives are in danger, call 112. If you live on the coast, read our guide to cyclone warnings and evacuation before the season starts.
  • Medical help: 108 for an emergency ambulance. 102 and 104 differ by state, so use the table.
  • Power cut, snapped wire or sparking meter: your power company’s complaint number. A live wire on the road is a danger to life, so keep people away and call 112.
  • Smell of LPG: 1906 is the national LPG emergency helpline. We found no state-specific gas emergency numbers on official pages, so none are listed.

How to find your own state’s numbers

  1. Search your state name with “State Disaster Management Authority” and open only a result that ends in .gov.in or .nic.in.
  2. Open its Contact or Emergency page and note the State Emergency Operations Centre and disaster helpline.
  3. Copy the electricity complaint number from your latest bill or your power company’s own website.
  4. Check your state health department or National Health Mission site for 108, 102 and 104.
  5. Write the numbers on a card and keep it by the door, next to the details in our 112 call information card guide.

Do this today

  • Save 112, 108 and your state control room number in every family member’s phone.
  • Save your power company’s complaint number next to your electricity bill.
  • If your state shows “not verified”, look it up on the official state site and write it on your family card.
  • Tell older relatives and children which number to call, and practise saying your address.

What needs attention

  • Disaster control room numbers are not uniform: 1070 and 1077 are common, but several states also publish landlines, WhatsApp numbers or toll-free 1800 numbers.
  • The electricity complaint number is usually 1912, but Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu list other numbers, and some states have more than one company.
  • Some state pages are old or undated, so even an official number needs a periodic re-check.
  • Several official state sites were slow or unreachable, which is itself a reason to save the numbers in your phone before an emergency.
  • We found no state-specific LPG emergency number on any official page; 1906 is the national number.

Controls that reduce risk

  1. Save 112, 108 and your state control room number today.
  2. Copy your power company's complaint number from your bill.
  3. Open your state SDMA website and note the SEOC number.
  4. Write the numbers on a card by the door and update it once a year.
  5. If your state shows "not verified", find the number on an official .gov.in or .nic.in page.

Common unsafe practices

  • Trusting a state helpline list from a forwarded message instead of the state government site.
  • Assuming 1070 or 1912 works the same way in every state.
  • Saving only the district number and not the state control room.
  • Calling the disaster helpline for a life-threatening emergency instead of 112.
  • Never checking the numbers again after saving them.

Immediate prevention actions

  1. Save 112, 108 and your state control room number.
  2. Copy your power company's complaint number from your bill.
  3. Find your state SDMA website and note the SEOC number.
  4. Write the numbers on a card by the door.
  5. Re-check the card once a year.

Emergency survival steps

  1. Life at risk: call 112 first.
  2. Flood, cyclone or storm damage: state control room (1070 in many states) or district 1077.
  3. Medical help: 108 where available; check your state for 102 and 104.
  4. Power cut or live wire: your power company number; keep people away from fallen wires and call 112.
  5. Save the numbers in your phone and on a card by the door.

Limitations

  • Only numbers seen on an official government page on 19 October 2026 are listed; each source is in the sources list. Some pages are old or undated.
  • Rajasthan and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands could not be verified because their official sites did not open from our network. They are left empty.
  • Several states have more than one electricity company; where we could read only one, only that one is listed and the company is named.
  • Some numbers come from district pages of the state government (for example 108 and 102 for several states) because the state-level site did not open; the sources list names the page.
  • Some states did not print a state-specific disaster control room number on the pages we could read; those cells say "not verified".
  • No state-specific LPG emergency numbers were found on official pages, so none are listed. 1906 is the national LPG helpline.
  • Numbers belonging to individual officers were deliberately excluded.
