Take these numbers with you

Print the Godhra emergency card for the fridge or the front door, and cut out the wallet cards. It holds 112, 101, the ambulance and police numbers. This guide has no local numbers yet, so there are blank lines to write your local fire station, police station and nearest hospital, and your family contacts.

Local risks in Godhra

Fire in a hospital store room

On 9 October 2026, a fire broke out in the medicine-store room of the Government Civil Hospital in Godhra, and more than 200 patients, including pregnant women, were reported moved out safely, as we cover in a case study. The cause was not established, and a short circuit was only a suspicion.

Mesri river floods and a submerged causeway

On 30 August 2025, upstream rain raised the Mesri river, which flows through Godhra, and flooded low-lying homes. Families in low-lying parts of Godhra and Halol were moved, and a causeway went under water and stopped traffic.

Ropeway and hill-shrine accidents at Pavagadh

On the afternoon of 6 September 2025, a cargo trolley carrying building material for the Pavagadh temple ropeway fell after its cables snapped, and six people died. The public ropeway was shut that day because of bad weather.

Chemical plant blast in the district

On 16 December 2021, around 10 am, a blast at a refrigerant plant in Goghamba village, Panchmahal, killed two workers and wounded 14, three of them critically. Fire tenders had to come from Godhra, Halol and Kalol.

Warehouse fires in town

A report dated 21 November 2025 describes a large fire at a wood warehouse in Godhra, with an electrical short circuit suspected. Timber, packing and stacked goods burn fast and a late call for help costs the stock.
