Pali Fire and Emergency Safety Guide

Pali is a textile and process-industry town, with dyeing units, guar gum plants and the Bandi river running through it, and fire help often has to come from neighbouring towns. This guide puts the emergency numbers and the main local risks on one page, with past incidents from Pali.

Take these numbers with you

Print the Pali emergency card for the fridge or the front door, and cut out the wallet cards. It holds 112, 101, the ambulance and police numbers. This guide has no local numbers yet, so there are blank lines to write your local fire station, police station and nearest hospital, and your family contacts.

Local risks in Pali

Night shifts at guar gum plants

On the night of 18 October 2026, fire broke out at a guar gum factory in Phase IV of the Pali industrial area with 17 workers on shift; two died and three were critically burnt. Reports said the entrance was narrow and the smoke thick, so firefighters had a wall broken open with a JCB.

Dyeing units, boilers and chemicals

In 2014, a farmers' group counted more than 600 dyeing units around Pali, and textile units employ over a quarter of the roughly 30,000 people working in its main industrial areas. Around Diwali 2024, a boiler fire at a factory on Mandia Road and a wooden godown fire near a Mandia Road hotel were put out by fire engines.

Fire cover that leans on neighbouring towns

For the October 2026 guar gum fire, fire tenders came from Sojat, Rani, Falna and Sumerpur as well as Pali, and eight tenders made about 55 trips. An older central MSME profile records industry asking for a fire brigade centre at Mandia Road; we could not confirm whether it has opened.

Diwali firecracker fires

About a dozen fires broke out in Pali over the two Diwali days of 2024, including a tent-house warehouse that burned for around two hours with four fire engines at work. The Municipal Corporation and RIICO fire crews answered the calls.

Polluted Bandi and groundwater

A Centre for Science and Environment study found Pali's effluent treatment plants could not treat textile waste to the prescribed level, and groundwater 50 km down the Bandi basin carried lead, arsenic, chromium and nickel. The Union environment ministry declared the area critically polluted in 2009.
