Take these numbers with you

Print the Padrauna emergency card for the fridge or the front door, and cut out the wallet cards. It holds 112, 101, the ambulance and police numbers. This guide has no local numbers yet, so there are blank lines to write your local fire station, police station and nearest hospital, and your family contacts.

Local risks in Padrauna

A bus out of control on town streets

On the evening of 27 October 2026 a roadways bus with a driver police reported as drunk ran about 5 km through Padrauna, from Subhash Chowk towards Ravindra Nagar Dhus, hitting parked autos and about 20 people; one person died and reports differ on how many were hurt. Police stopped it with a barricade after about 20 minutes, and we cover it in a case study.

Highway crashes on NH-28 and the Gorakhpur road

On the night of 25 August 2025 a bus of pilgrims hit a truck head on near the Jolenia cut in Hata, killing the bus driver and injuring 20. On 9 November 2023 a speeding truck rammed a broken-down roadways bus on the Gorakhpur to Kushinagar road near Jagdishpur, and six people died.

Narayani and Gandak floods

In late September 2026 an embankment of the Narayani broke near Tatwa Tola, and one report said 20 to 25 villages went under water with a gap about 2 km wide. In late August 2026, after the Nepal floods, villages along the Gandak were watched and all 36 gates of the Valmikinagar barrage were opened.

Heat and lightning in the plains

The district disaster page lists heat wave plans for 2023 to 2025 and a flood kit scheme, and the state disaster authority lists lightning early warning guidance. In open fields and on the road in a storm, lightning is a real risk, so shelter early.

Thin fire cover on the printed list

The state list shows three fire stations for the whole district, at Khadda, Kushinagar and Tamkuhiraj, and none for Padrauna by name. Keep extinguishers in shops and a second way out of every floor, and give the caller a landmark when you ring 112.
